Edit Content Window

The Edit Content Window is where changes to the Editable Area of the web pages can be made. This window has many tools to help you edit your content in the most comfortable way possible. Users of with different levels of experience are able to use the tools with the same easy while possible using different techniques.

 

Buttons

 

 

This button inserts a Content Block into the Editable Area of the web page. The Content Block will look like the image below in the Edit Content window. When viewed outside the Edit Content window, the yellow box will be gone and the content contained within the block will appear the same as the unprotected content on the page.

 

Content Blocks allow users to set permissions to different sections of text on a single page. So someone putting content in a page could create different areas for each user of a page, and set it up so users could only edit their own Content Blocks. That way, users do not have to worry about other people changing their content without their knowledge or permission.

  

This button centers any selected text, or text added following the cursor, on the page.

 

This button aligns any selected text, or text added following the cursor, on the page to the left side of the page or current table cell.

 

This button aligns any selected text, or text added following the cursor, on the page to the right side of the page or current table cell.

 

This button allows the user to change the background color of text. You can see the text background in the area around the entered text. The background color is white by default.

 

This button makes any selected text or text following the cursor bold. (Normal text vs. Bold text)

 

Places a copy of any text or images that are selected, and places them into the computer buffer so they can be pasted somewhere else.

 

Opens the Create/Edit Table window, which allows you to enter the dimensions for a new table.

 

Removes any text or images that are selected from the Editable Area, and places them into the computer buffer so they can be pasted somewhere else.

 

This button allows the user to change the background color of the web page. You can see the background anywhere in the web page where there is not an image covering it. The background color is white by default.

 

This button allows you to change what kind of action hitting the Enter button on your keyboard will perform. When is visible, you will start a new paragraph every time you hit the enter button. When is visible, you will jump down one line every time you hit the enter button. To change between the two modes, just click on the Enable/Disable Breaks button.  

 

Sets a link to a web page that is not part of the current web site structure. Links can be attached to text, images, or just be the target web address of the link itself. If no images or text are selected when the link is created, then the target web address will be inserted into the page as the physical link.

 

This drop down box determines what font the selected or entered text will be.

This button allows you to set the color of text and lines.

 

This opens the Help window which contain information on how to use the Content Management System.

  

This creates a horizontal line across the Editable Area or selected table cell.

 

This button switches from Rich Media Editing to the HTML editor. Only experienced users should use the HTML editor.

 

This button allows you to indent a line of content or a selected group of content ten spaces.

 

This button opens the Select Symbol window that provides a selection of special symbols that can be inserted into your content.

 

This button inserts an Author Comment into the Editable Area of the web page. The Author Comment will not be visible outside the Edit Content window.

 

Author Comment blocks allow users to put notes on the page without them being visible on the web site. The can be used to put editing guidelines on a page for developers, messages for other developers, or just self-reminders.

 

This button opens the Insert Document window, which will allow you to upload a document and setup a link to it.

 

This button opens the Insert/Update Image window, which will allow you to insert an image into your content.

 

This allows you to insert a link to another page in your web site

 

This button allows you to change your text formatting to text.

 

This button formats content so it efficiently uses the entire usable area of the page.

 

This button will format your text in a numbered list.

 

This button will allow you to move text an indent space out to the left edge of the page. This button can be used with numbered or unordered list or plain text.

 

This button allows you to paste any content that you have already copied or cut.

 

This button allows you to paste copied or cut images and text from the world wide web or Word into your web page.

 

This button allows you to redo an action that you have previously undone.

 

This button removes any style or font changes made to the text on your page.

 

This button changes the current web page back to its last saved version. If in the process of editing a page, you do not like what you have, you can click on the Revert to Old Version, and the page will go back to the way it was when you last saved it.

 

This button saves the current version of the web page without publishing it to the web site. So changes made to the web page are saved, however, anyone who views the web site will not be able to see the changes until they are published.

This button opens the Spell Checker window that checks the spelling of the text on the web page.

 

This button puts a line through selected text on the web page.

 

This button allows you to change the style of selected text.

 

This button sets text below the level of regular text.

 

This button sets text above the level of regular text.

 

This button makes any selected text or text following the cursor underlined.

 

This button allows you to undo an action that you have previously done.

 

This button unlinks selected internal and external links in a web page.

 

This button will format your text in an unordered list.
