There are three kinds of links that can be inserted into the content; internal, external, and document.
Internal links are links that open a page that is in your web site.
External links are links to pages that are part of other web sites on the world wide web.
Document links are links to documents that have been uploaded to your web site folders.
All three types of links can be created as a URL, text or an image. The following are examples of each type of link as a link to the activities page:
URL links are automatically created by the CMS system. They are just the file path to the page you link to.
Text links are links created out of text you enter.
Image links are links created out of images you insert. Unlike text and URL links which will be underlined and change color when made into links, images will not have a visible change. When a cursor goes over them on the web page, the cursor will change to a pointer finger.
Internal links are links that open a page that is in your web site.
Decide if you want the link to be the URL, text, or an image.
For a URL link, place the cursor where you want the link to go.
For a different text link, type the text you want to be the link, and highlight it.
For an image link, select the image you want to be a link.
Click on the Internal Link button to open the Insert Internal URL window.
Here you can scroll through a list of the pages in your website that you may link to. Each listing has the page URL, Flyout caption, and Title.
When you find the page you want to link to, click on the name. The window will close and the link will appear on your web page.
External links are links to pages that are part of other web sites on the world wide web.
Decide if you want the link to be the URL, text, or an image.
For a URL link, place the cursor where you want the link to go.
For a different text link, type the text you want to be the link, and highlight it.
For an image link, select the image you want to be a link.
Click on the External Link button to open the Insert/Edit Link button.
In this window, you will tell the link where to go, how to get there, and where to open. In the first drop down box, you will select the protocol for the web site.

Protocol used to open a new email.

Protocol used to open news groups.
Next, enter the web/email address to which you wish to link. Finally, select where you would like the new website to open, whether it be the current window, a new window, or the parent window (when using frames). Set this by making a selection from the Target drop down box.

Self
Opens the linked website in the current window.
Blank
Opens the linked website in a new window.
Parent
Opens the linked website in a parent window when frames are being used.
When you have entered all the settings, click on the Insert to create the link. If you wish to leave the window without creating a link, click on the Cancel button.
Document links are links to documents that have been uploaded to your web site folders.
Decide if you want the link to be the URL, text, or an image.
For a URL link, place the cursor where you want the link to go.
For a different text link, type the text you want to be the link, and highlight it.
For an image link, select the image you want to be a link.
Click on the Insert Document button in the toolbar to open the Insert Document window.
In the Select Folder drop down box, you can select the folder that contains the document you want to link to by clicking on “Select”.
If you cannot find the folder/file, you can click on the Browse button next to the Upload Document text box.
When you find the file you want in the Choose File window, click on Open.
Then click on the Upload button located next to the Browse button.
Go to the Document Name box, find the file you uploaded, and click on select.
Finally, if you are happy with your selection, click on the Insert button at the bottom of the window, and the link to your document will be created.
There are two ways to remove links from your content. You can delete the link completely, or just remove the link from the content that it’s attached to. Which one you use will probably depend on how your link is set up.
To delete the link completely:
Select the text or image that is linked.
Press the Delete key on your keyboard.
The link and the text or image the link was connected to will be deleted from the page.
To remove a link from content:
Select the text or image that is linked.
Click on the Unlink button in the toolbar.
The link will be removed, and the text or image the link was connected to will remain on the page.
